Location. The beachfront Dorado Pacifico Hotel is located on Palmar Beach in Ixtapa, Mexico, five kilometers from the colonial town of Zihuatanejo. Isla de Ixtapa, accessed by boat, is located one kilometer from this property.
Hotel Features. Six on site restaurants and bars include the sunlit La Cascada Caf� that serves breakfast buffets and � la carte lunches and dinners. Coco La Palm Restaurant prepares regional and international cuisine, and hosts nightly live music. Guests' communication needs are addressed via Internet while flexible meeting space is available for corporate or social gatherings. Volleyball, team game and bingo activities take place around the main pool, which features two water slides. An on site massage center provides a full menu of treatments. Two lighted hard surface tennis courts are located on the property, and a tennis pro offers private lessons. Beach concessions provide snorkeling, parasailing and windsurfing equipment, and guests receive a discount at two 18 hole golf courses located near the hotel. A playground, a children's pool and the Dorado Kids' Club (ages 4 12) provide youth oriented recreation. This hotel even maintains a separate kids' restaurant.
Guestrooms. The Dorado Pacifico Hotel features 285 air conditioned guestrooms located in an 11 story tower. All rooms boast ocean view private balconies with a table and two chairs, minibars, coffeemakers and satellite television. Sunny d�cor echoes seaside color schemes with pale yellow and aqua blue accents, and tiled floors.
Expert Tip. Movie buffs may recall the nearby town of Zihuatanejo as the site where Morgan Freeman's and Tim Robbins' characters claimed safe harbor in Shawshank Redemption.
